The Two Percent Company have an article today eloquently exposing the lunacy of the war on drugs. Here we have a sting operation where the owners of convenience stores are being prosecuted for selling cold medicine, cooking fuel, and (get this) matchbooks – to undercover police officers - because these items can be used to make crystal meth. And the penalties could include up to 20 years in prison, forfeiture of their stores, fines of up to $250,000, and, in some cases, deportation.
Makes you feel good to know your tax dollars are being spent so wisely.
Clearly, this war is about politics and not results. We know that anti-drug programs like DARE don't work, but our tax dollars continue to be wasted because no politician wants to appear "soft on drugs." Science is supposed to inform political decision-making, but we get faith-based lunacy instead.

Lunacy? It doesn't seem like lunacy so much as pure evilness. The cops probably thought the Hajis [sic] were moooozlims [sic], and everyone knows moooozlims [sic] are terrists [sic]. Now some ass-wipe prosecutor in shit-for-brains Georgia is going to be making a name for himself making the streets safe for law abiding 'merikans [sic]. He'll probably turn this case into a reason to be elected to GA's Attorney General.
